the ultimate underdog point guard who turned Drake into a March headline
In the 2007-08 season, Emmenecker was the engine of Drake’s breakout run: he started every game, led the Missouri Valley Conference in assists, and earned MVC Player of the Year and Academic All-American of the Year honors. His calling card was unusual poise for a former walk-on—high IQ, elite distribution, relentless competitiveness, and a knack for making teammates better. If your team wants a steady lead guard who elevates the whole operation, he’s a fit; if you need a scoring-heavy creator, he’s more conductor than soloist.
