Tony Grimmer brings high-upside, downhill linebacker juice to Duke
Tony Grimmer enters Duke in the 2026 season as a freshman linebacker with a clear calling card: production and activity. At Lone Peak, he piled up 144 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 3 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles, and 2 fumble recoveries as a senior, while also flashing plus athletic traits like a 4.45-second 40 and a 36.2-inch vertical. That profile says “range, pop, and playmaking,” which is exactly what a defense wants in a modern LB. For a team, he looks like a developmental, high-motor fit with upside.
