DySaun Smith brings veteran DB savvy and physicality to Eastern Illinois
DySaun Smith is a seasoned Eastern Illinois defensive back whose value leans more on experience and defensive consistency than flash. The key differentiator: he’s a proven, older presence in the secondary, which usually translates to steadier angles, better communication, and fewer freshman-style mistakes. Publicly available team material confirms his DB role and long Panthers tenure, but there isn’t enough current statistical detail here to credibly label him a stat-sheet star. If your team wants a dependable, mature defensive back who can settle a backend, Smith is the kind of player coaches tend to trust.
