Sam Houston’s Demetrice Sims brings steady guard production and veteran grit
In the 2001-02 season, Demetrice Sims averaged 9.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.0 steal in 26.5 minutes per game for Sam Houston, giving the Bearkats a dependable two-way guard presence[1]. He paired modest scoring efficiency with useful playmaking and active defense, and his career line shows consistent all-around contribution rather than flashy volume[1][2]. Sims looks like the kind of tough, reliable backcourt piece coaches trust when they need poise, competitiveness, and a little nasty in the best possible way[1][2].
