Damon Matthews brings veteran DB versatility and playmaking pop to Maine
In the 2023 season, Damon Matthews flashed real disruption for Maine, earning his first career interception and adding eight tackles in a strong outing against Campbell, while his pre-college résumé showed a rare two-way background with production at defensive back and receiver. He looks like a smart fit for a team that values experience, physicality, and instinctive ball skills; at 5-foot-10, 185 pounds, he’s not the biggest DB, but he has the kind of competitive edge and multi-phase football feel that can make him a sneaky-dang efficient piece in the secondary.
