Travaughn Colwell brings size, versatility, and veteran DB grit to NMSU
Travaughn Colwell is a long, versatile New Mexico State defensive back with a listed 6-3 frame and a background that suggests real positional flexibility after originally appearing on offense in his college career. In the 2014 season, ESPN listed him with 6 solo tackles and no interceptions, forced fumbles, or pass breakups, which points to a role built more on steady assignment football than splash plays. He should appeal to teams that value length, experience, and a player who can help in multiple spots without needing the spotlight.
