Camereon Cartlidge brings upside, size-speed juice, and early-career linebacker grit to NCCU
In the 2026 season, Camereon Cartlidge is an active North Carolina Central freshman linebacker who has already logged 2 total tackles through the opening game, with a 1-tackle outing at Texas Southern on Aug. 30. He stands out more for upside than polish: NCCU’s staff called him a linebacker with the “ideal blend of size and speed,” noted his elite work ethic, and said he has only two years of linebacker experience, which hints at real room to grow. He was also a high-volume high school tackler, finishing with 133 tackles as a senior and earning conference defensive player of the year honors.
