veteran Houston linebacker bringing steady edge and grown-man experience
In the 2026 season, Kris Johnston is a redshirt senior linebacker for Houston at 6-foot-something and 218 pounds, giving the Cougars an experienced, physically mature presence in the middle of the defense. He stands out more for reliability, leverage, and know-how than flash—think assignment-sound, contact-ready, and likely trusted in a grown-up linebacker room. If your team wants a tough, seasoned defender who should know the system and keep the defense clean rather than chase highlight plays, Johnston fits that mold nicely.
