Albany Great Danes' Steady Guard from the Mid-2000s Era
Amanda Ward, a 5'9" guard for the University at Albany Great Danes, delivered reliable production in the 2006-07 season after transferring from Community College of Rhode Island, playing all 28 games with 15 starts while averaging 8.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.4 assists—showcasing her versatility and toughness as a junior. Her multi-sport high school background (basketball, tennis, track at Windsor HS, CO) highlights athleticism and grit, making her a low-drama, high-floor fit for teams needing consistent scoring and rebounding from the perimeter; now 41, her playing days are long behind, but her story inspires underdog transfers.
