Emerging CB Talent Transitioning from HS Diamond to Jax State Secondary
Skylar Mansfield, a recent signee to the Jacksonville State Gamecocks as a cornerback, brings raw athleticism from his standout high school baseball career at Winterboro High (Alpine, AL), where he logged 1 AB and 1 PA in a key 2026 win over Talladega on Mar. 20—hinting at clutch performance under pressure. With no college football stats yet as a freshman, his differentiator is versatile speed and field awareness from multi-sport exploits, making him a high-upside fit for teams needing developmental DBs with intensity and multi-positional grit; watch for breakout potential in 2026 fall camp.
