Untapped two-way arm with power potential, but still waiting for a Nevada breakout
In the 2026 season, Tanner Short redshirted at Nevada and did not appear in a game, so the biggest story is still projection rather than production. Listed at 6-foot-3, 205 pounds, he brings a legit two-way profile as an RHP/OF, and reporting from Nevada outlets has described him as a junior-college transfer with outfield potential. The intrigue is clear: size, athleticism, and versatility make him a fascinating fit for a staff or lineup looking for upside, but the lack of game action means the résumé is still more promise than proof.
