Blayne Fritcher brings starter-sized frame and real swing-and-miss upside to Lamar’s staff
In the 2026 season, the 6-foot-5 senior transfer right-hander has been used as both a starter and reliever for Lamar, flashing a power profile that includes 19 strikeouts in 17.2 innings at McNeese in 2025 and a 34-strikeout season at Cloud County in 2023. He’s the kind of arm teams like because the stuff has length, innings-eating potential, and experience across multiple stops, though his 2026 results have been uneven with a midseason ERA over 4.00 and some command volatility. The fit is intriguing if a staff wants projection, size, and strikeout upside more than instant polish.
