Ayla Gonzales brings contact-first speed and dependable defense to UIW
In the 2026 season, Gonzales has hit .370 with a .431 on-base percentage in 51 starts, adding 47 hits, 32 runs and a strong .985 fielding percentage, making her a steady, high-floor contributor for Incarnate Word[1][3]. Her profile is built on consistency, athleticism and pressure on defenses rather than power; in high school she was also an offensive MVP and was noted for speed and using her 5'0 frame efficiently, which fits a lineup that values table-setters and reliable outfield play[2][3][12].
