veteran Delta Devils linebacker with a compact, physical profile
Rico Mazique is listed by Mississippi Valley State as a linebacker, but the publicly available profile is thin and mostly archival, so the main takeaway is his long-standing presence in the program rather than a current stat explosion. In the 2012 season, Mississippi Valley State materials noted he was a senior linebacker who had 15 tackles in six games, and he was also recognized on the SWAC All-Academic Team, which hints at a disciplined, dependable type of player[1][2]. If you want a steady, physical defender with a team-first reputation, he fits the mold; if you’re chasing flashy production or verified current-season numbers, the public record doesn’t give much to hang your hat on[1][2].
