Adison Mattix brings starter-level pitchability and a live arm to Akron’s rotation
Mattix profiles as a right-handed starter with a mid-to-upper-80s fastball, a sharp curveball, and a usable changeup, giving him a three-pitch mix that can keep hitters off balance rather than just overpower them.[1] Baseball Northwest also lists above-average athletic traits and in-game results that point to strike-throwing potential, and a Canadian collegiate report described him as delivering a quality start with just two hits, one walk, and five strikeouts in six innings.[1][3] He looks like a fit for a team that values command, competitiveness, and starter flexibility more than pure velocity.[1][3]
