Aaliyah Gaines brings downhill guard play and steady scoring punch to Evansville
Aaliyah Gaines is a 5'8" guard whose value comes from getting downhill and creating easier offense for teammates, a trait her coach explicitly highlighted during Evansville’s 2016 win over Bradley. In the season data available, she produced 5.3 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 0.3 assists per game on 40.0% shooting, which points to a compact, role-specific guard who can attack gaps and give a lineup pace and pressure. She looks like a fit for a team that wants a tough, direct guard rather than a high-usage creator.
