a disruptive, veteran Western Illinois linebacker with proven backfield punch
In the 2022 season, Cole Watts produced 45 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, and 4.5 sacks in 11 games for Western Illinois, showing real edge as an attacking linebacker who can make plays behind the line. He also flashed range and impact with a season-high nine tackles against UT Martin and two sacks versus Missouri State. The big differentiator here is his knack for negative plays: Watts brings downhill urgency, short-area burst, and a proven ability to affect the quarterback. If you want a physical, disruptive LB with production to match the tape, he’s a strong fit.
