Murray State catcher Kingsley Guthrie brings quickness, pop-up defense, and a grinder’s edge
Kingsley Guthrie profiles as a compact, right-handed catcher with good overall quickness, quick feet, and enough explosion to the throwing position to help him control the run game; Perfect Game also noted that he stays on top of the ball well and ran a 7.57 in the sixty, which supports the athletic feel behind the plate. Baseball America lists him at 5'10", 185 pounds, and his recent game log shows he is contributing in live action for Murray State, including a steal in a 2026 series against Bradley. He looks like a fit for teams that value athletic catching, mobility, and competitive energy over pure size.
