Scotty Young keeps coming up clutch for ODU
Scotty Young is a 6-foot-6 graduate student outfielder for Old Dominion who has been a timely, physical bat in 2026, repeatedly delivering late-game RBI hits and walk-offs for the Monarchs[1][2][3]. He fits the profile of a momentum swing: big frame, run-producing pop, and enough athleticism to steal bases, while also showing the toughness to stay in the middle of the action after getting hit by pitches and grinding through pressure spots[1][4]. In 2025, he was already one of ODU’s steadiest hitters, batting .321 early in the season and leading the offense at times[13].
