VMI's Junior DB Robert Powell: Pick-Six Hero with Playmaking Flair
Junior DB Robert Powell (5'9", 175 lbs) electrified the 2025 season at VMI with 1 INT—including a flashy pick-six TD—2 tackles, and 0.5 sack, proving his ball-hawking instincts and fearless closing speed despite his compact frame. His senior high school highlights from Morgantown (WV) showcase versatility in coverage and tackling (5 solo tackles in 2023-24), earning scout buzz for high-motor intensity and football IQ. A differentiator in VMI's secondary, Powell's playmaking upside makes him a steal for FCS teams needing dynamic, turnover-forcing DBs—no major injury flags, pure competitor vibe.
