Elijah McGuire is a Louisiana legend — but not a current basketball guard
The key thing to know is that Elijah McGuire is best known as a Louisiana football standout, not a current basketball contributor; Louisiana’s roster lists him as a guard/sophomore, but available source material ties him to his football Hall of Fame profile and an older 2015–16 basketball stint in which he played 16 games with modest production. The appeal here is versatility and athlete pedigree, not recent on-court output: he’s a tough, proven competitor with deep Cajuns roots, but there isn’t reliable current basketball performance data to evaluate him as an active fit for a team.
