Alonso Vera brings reliability and special-teams steadiness to Cal
Alonso Vera is a dependable long snapper for California, with Cal’s roster listing him as a 5-11, 235-pound specialist and noting he played in all 25 available games in 2017 and 2018 without an errant snap[1]. That kind of low-drama consistency is the whole point at his position: he’s a coverage-minded special-teams piece who also showed some punch with two career tackles, and his profile suggests a seasoned, trustworthy fit if a team wants clean snaps and veteran stability over flashy box-score production[1][2].
