6-foot-5 VMI lefty Gavin Biernot brings ace-sized upside and a heavy-arm profile
Gavin Biernot entered VMI as a decorated Virginia prep arm, including Virginia Class 6 Player of the Year honors in 2024 after an 8-0 senior season with a 0.89 ERA and 92 strikeouts, which hints at real bat-missing ability and competitive polish. VMI lists him as a 6-foot-5, 220-pound redshirt freshman left-hander, a build that usually travels well for projection and durability. The one-line read: he looks like a high-upside, power-lefty candidate who fits teams that value length, deception, and strike-throwing upside rather than a finished product.
