Jalen Jones gives USC a compact, competitive corner with upside
Jones is a **5-8, 165-pound** redshirt junior cornerback who brings a smaller frame but the kind of quickness and edge USC can use in the slot and in matchup coverage[4]. His recruiting profile was modest by national ranking standards—247Sports listed him at **No. 1,622 overall**—so his value is more about development, toughness, and role fit than blue-chip hype[3]. For a team, he makes sense if you want a scrappy, technique-driven defender who can survive in space and compete every snap, rather than a pure size/speed specimen[4][3].
