Tennessee’s high-motor defensive wrecking ball
In the 2020-21 season, Yves Pons was Tennessee’s elite glue guy: a long, explosive G/F who finished with 137 career blocks for the Vols and earned SEC Defensive Player of the Year recognition, which tells you everything about his intensity and impact on that end. He brings switchable defense, weak-side rim protection, and real chaos-creation, but his value depends on the lineup around him because his offense has been more limited than his defense. If your team needs a relentless, versatile defender who plays with urgency and edge, Pons is absolutely worth caring about.
