Ainsley Stubbs gives Morehead State a workhorse arm with real strikeout bite
In the 2026 season, Stubbs was Morehead State’s ace-by-usage: she led the staff in innings, logged 38 appearances, and finished with a 7-14 record, 5.17 ERA, 103 strikeouts, and seven complete games while also earning All-Newcomer honors[2][8]. She’s the kind of pitcher coaches love for volume and toughness—she had the trust to pitch in every Eagle win and even threw a career-high eight-strikeout shutout in April[2][3]. The profile is clear: competitive, durable, and battle-tested, with enough bat-missing ability to fit a staff that needs grit and innings more than polish[2][9].
