Jamaal Bass brings old-school linebacker toughness to NIU
Jamaal Bass is a Northern Illinois linebacker whose profile is built on physicality, downhill aggression, and reliability—traits that made him a tough, tone-setting presence for the Huskies. His listed NIU career highs include 10 tackles in a game and multiple tackles-for-loss outings, which points to an instinctive run defender who can finish plays when healthy. He also had a documented injury-affected final season, so the big question for any team is whether it’s getting the hard-nosed enforcer or the version limited by durability.
