Walk-on grinder who earned respect at Saint Joseph’s
Mike Muggeo’s calling card at Saint Joseph’s was toughness and buy-in: he went from practice player to walk-on, then earned a scholarship in 2018-19 and the program’s Unsung Hero award. In the 2018-19 season, he appeared in 4 games and logged modest stats, but the real value was his depth, reliability, and team-first presence. He’s the kind of guard coaches like because he embraces role-player work, stays ready, and brings veteran maturity; not a headline scorer, but a glue guy who can help culture and locker-room chemistry.
