Matt McKillop is a steady Davidson veteran with a coach’s brain and a program-builder’s edge
McKillop, a Davidson alum and longtime Wildcats coach, isn’t a stat-sheet guard so much as a basketball-savvy floor general whose value shows up in structure, poise, and execution. Davidson’s recent trajectory under him includes a 17-16 finish in the 2024-25 season and a 10-8 Atlantic 10 mark in 2025-26, reflecting a program that’s been steadily competitive, disciplined, and tough-minded. What makes him appealing is the combination of deep institutional fit, experience, and a clear emphasis on IQ, physicality, and toughness—exactly the kind of profile that helps a team win the little battles that matter most.
