veteran UNLV DL with proven pass-rush bite
Elton Shackelford is a seasoned defensive lineman who flashed as a starter for UNLV, with historical notes showing 1.5 sacks in a season and a role that grew after he “showed promise late in the season” as an edge presence. His value is less about flash and more about steady trench work, maturity, and leverage-driven disruption — the kind of profile coaches like because he can help set the edge and bring dependable effort snap after snap. Publicly available current-season performance data is limited, so the clearest takeaway is that he looks like a reliable, experienced fit rather than a pure headline stat-stuffer.
