Eric Butler gives Southern Illinois a high-IQ, two-way guard who can score, pass, and rebound
Butler’s appeal is his all-around guard game: in the 2024-25 season at Rio Grande, he averaged 14.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and shot 47.7% from the field and 41.3% from three, while playing 30.5 minutes per game and starting all 25 games.[1] Early in his SIU career, he showed limited usage but enough playmaking feel to hand out four assists in eight games as a freshman.[6] He profiles as a tough, versatile fit who can handle pressure, rebound well for his size, and impact both transition and half-court possessions.[5]
