Jaylen Banks brings size, pedigree, and developmental upside to Southern Illinois' defensive front
Banks is a **6-4, 296-pound** defensive lineman who arrived with some real recruiting credibility, including a Missouri ranking as the **No. 27 defensive lineman prospect in the Class of 2022** and a high school resume of **77 tackles and six sacks**; at Southern Illinois, he has shown early rotational value, appearing in **three games with three tackles**. His appeal is the blend of frame, toughness, and interior-line potential—good fit material for a team that wants a bigger-bodied DL with room to grow rather than a finished-product stat machine.
