Cal’s durable, draft-bound strikeout arm
In the 2026 season, Gavin Eddy emerged as one of Cal’s most reliable starters, going 6-3 with a 2.87 ERA while leading the ACC in innings pitched (84.2) and ranking fourth in the league in strikeouts (94). He also showed swing-and-miss upside with a 14-strikeout gem against Virginia and earned ACC Pitcher of the Week honors, then was selected by the Astros in the 5th round of the 2026 MLB Draft. At 6-foot-5, he brings size, stamina, and starter traits that fit a rotation looking for a high-floor innings eater with real bat-missing punch.
