Ben Cherico turned into Saint Louis’ ace in 2026
In the 2026 season, the 6-foot-4 right-hander posted a 3.11 ERA, struck out 76 batters, and held opponents to a .214 average while throwing 84.0 innings for Saint Louis; he also became the first Billiken since 2007 to record two complete-game shutouts in a season. The big sell here is durability plus bat-missing stuff, and his recent surge suggests a pitcher who can work deep, control games, and give a staff real Friday-night confidence.
