Southern Illinois guard Jawaun Newton brings proven scoring and veteran versatility
Jawaun Newton is a proven veteran guard whose value starts with scoring: he averaged 7.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.0 assists in the season reflected by ESPN, and his earlier résumé includes a 30-point NCAA game at Evansville plus a senior high-school season of 28.5 points and 7.1 rebounds. He stands out as an experienced, physical backcourt option who can create offense and contribute on the glass, making him a useful fit for teams needing steadiness, toughness, and a guard who has already shown he can carry a larger load.
