Austin Henry brings pro-level frame and pedigree, but he’s still translating it into college impact
Henry is a 6-foot-5 right-hander with elite South Dakota credentials — he was the state’s No. 1 player and set the state single-season strikeout record with 106 in high school, then arrived at South Dakota State after stops at Wichita State, Oklahoma, and Missouri without game action there[1][3]. In 2026, he finally got into the Jackrabbits’ pitching mix and was part of the no-hitter against Buena Vista, but his outing log also shows some early-command volatility, including a loss at Oklahoma State[6][7][9]. If you want upside, arm strength, and big-frame projection, he’s intriguing; if you need an established, high-volume college stopper right now, he’s still proving that part[1][3].
