Angel Acosta brings a live arm and proven strikeout track record to Lamar
In the 2024 season at Alvin Community College, Angel Acosta logged 31 strikeouts in 21.1 innings with one save, and in the 2023 season he posted a 2.84 ERA with 18 strikeouts in 12.2 innings, showing a bullpen-to-starter profile with swing-and-miss upside. Lamar’s 2026 roster lists him as a 6-foot-1, 215-pound junior transfer RHP, which suggests a power frame built for durability and bite. The key appeal: he looks like a hard-throwing arm with real strikeout feel, the kind of pitcher who can shorten innings and fit in a competitive staff mix.
