Lean, developmental DB with Western Illinois size and versatility
Marquis Smith is a 5-foot-10 defensive back from Ypsilanti, Michigan, who profiles as a compact, quick coverage piece for Western Illinois.[1][2] The public roster pages available here do not show current game statistics or accolades, so the safest read is that he is still in a development/evaluation phase rather than a proven production anchor.[6][7] His value likely comes from short-area quickness, competitive edge, and positional flexibility at DB/CB, which can matter more than raw box-score numbers for a secondary fit.[1][2]
