Olga Volkova was a rugged post presence for Cal
In the 2003-04 season, Olga Volkova gave California a physical, disciplined center who rebounded, protected the rim, and played bigger than her frame suggests. Cal’s official bio described her as one of the team’s top rebounders, strong and mobile for her size, with competitive, disciplined edge; she also earned Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention, a nice little bonus for a player who brought substance and professionalism. In the 2003-04 record book, she appeared in 29 games and was recognized for steady frontcourt value rather than flash — exactly the kind of glue piece a coach can trust.
