Alabama State linebacker with a twitchy, assignment-sound edge
Avery Smith is listed on Alabama State’s 2025–26 roster as a linebacker, but publicly available stat and scouting coverage for that specific Hornets player is limited, so a full current-performance read is hard to pin down. If this is the same Avery Smith who has appeared in national football prospect coverage, the profile points to a disciplined, instinctive defender with good range and a nose for the ball—traits that translate well for a system needing reliable run support and downhill urgency. In short: intriguing fit if your staff values toughness, football IQ, and special-teams-ready effort over flashy measurables.
