Cruz Rubio gives Cal Poly a steady, high-trust snap at the specialist spot
Cruz Rubio is a 5-foot-11, 225-pound long snapper from Mater Dei who has been a consistent presence for Cal Poly since 2020, playing in every game across multiple seasons and handling the hidden-but-critical specialist work that keeps punts and kicks clean. In 2023, Cal Poly listed him as a three-year long snapper, and earlier roster notes show the Mustangs were perfect on PATs with Rubio snapping in 2022. He stands out for reliability, experience, and special-teams leadership—exactly the kind of low-drama, high-confidence fit coaches love.
