Mercer LB Dylan Mitchell brings compact, hard-nosed depth to the Bears’ defense
Dylan Mitchell is a redshirt freshman linebacker for Mercer in the 2026 season, listed at 5-10 and 187 pounds, and he already stands out for a high-academic, high-effort profile that fits a disciplined defense. He was a four-year letter winner at Hillgrove High and made the Academic Honor Roll each season, which hints at reliability, coachability, and a steady motor rather than flash. The biggest question is role and production—publicly available stat lines are limited—but his frame and background suggest a scrappy, assignment-sound fit for a team that values toughness and consistency.
