UMass Junior C Chinenye Odenigbo: 6-5 Double-Decker Anchor with High-Impact Interior Presence
Chinenye Odenigbo, a 6-5 Junior Center for the Massachusetts Minutewomen, is a physical interior anchor who posted 5.1 points and 4.4 rebounds per game as a sophomore in the 2024-25 season [1]. Her differentiator is her rare combination of size (6-5) and active hands for a center, allowing her to control the paint without needing elite scoring volume [1][2]. Born in Walpole, MA, she brings a home-state intensity and a 'big-body' personality that elevates team defense and rebounding battles [2]. While her scoring average is modest, her rebounding rate (4.4 RPG) signals she’s a reliable second-chance creator and defensive stopper. With UMass starting the 2025-26 season strong (3-0 after beating Harvard 68-55), Odenigbo is a high-fit addition for teams needing a physical, low-maintenance center who thrives in the trenches [3]. No reported injury history; her consistency and active play style make her a trustworthy roster piece.
