Jalen Smith was Maryland’s high-motor, two-way frontcourt anchor
In the 2019-20 season, Jalen Smith gave Maryland a rare blend of rim protection, rebounding, and stretch scoring, averaging 15.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks while earning Third Team All-American honors.[2][4][10] He was a top-10 NBA Draft pick, which tells you the pro-level belief in his tools: length, touch, and a power forward’s presence that punished Big Ten lineups inside and out.[4][12][13] If your team wants a skilled big who competes hard, finishes efficiently, and changes shots, Stix was absolutely your guy.[2][9]
