Braxton Shelton brings veteran right-handed depth, but the command trend is the swing factor
In the 2025 season, Braxton Shelton gave UAB a useful mix of starts and relief work, finishing with 30 strikeouts in 49.2 innings and two saves, but his run prevention was uneven and he carried a 7.97 ERA into 2026.[1][2] The big draw is experience: the senior right-hander has shown he can handle high-leverage innings and even logged a one-hit shutout complete game in 2024, but his fit depends on whether a team believes its pitching staff can sharpen his command and limit damage when he misses spots.[1][2][4]
