elite Duke cover man with top-end national recognition
John Talley was a high-end Duke defensive back who drew major national praise in the 2006 preseason, including first-team All-America recognition from *The Sporting News* and a No. 1 cornerback ranking, signaling true shutdown-corner upside. His career profile also shows production—16 interceptions, 97 solo tackles, and 3 forced fumbles—suggesting a DB who could make plays in coverage and support the run. For a team, the appeal is clear: proven pedigree, ball skills, and enough physicality to help in multiple coverage roles.
