Veteran Hokies backstop heating up at the right time
Henry Cooke is a senior catcher who gives Virginia Tech a steady, experienced bat and a dependable glove in the 2026 season. He was a 2025 top-five Hokies hitter in average (.277), slugging (.471), on-base percentage (.385), hits, homers, RBI and hit-by-pitches, and after a slow start in 2026 he surged into ACC play with power and on-base impact, including a Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Week honor. His fit? Immediate lineup length, leadership, and a rugged catcher who can handle a staff.
