Chase Hutchinson looks like a developing NIU linebacker with upside and a blue-collar edge
Chase Hutchinson is listed by Northern Illinois as a linebacker from West Des Moines, Iowa, at 6-2 and 210 pounds, and he arrived as a four-year varsity player and senior captain in high school[2][13]. The key reason to care: he brings the kind of long, coachable, physical profile that fits NIU’s tough defensive identity, with the pedigree of a leader rather than just a body on the depth chart[2]. Publicly available stat pages are thin on current production, so the best current read is that he’s still in the “development and opportunity” phase rather than a proven stat-sheet monster[1][3][8].
