Texas Southern CB Malachi Byrd: developmental cover man with size and upside
Malachi Byrd is a Texas Southern cornerback with prototype length at 6'1" and 190 pounds, but the public stat trail is thin, with ESPN showing just one total tackle in 2022 and Texas Southern listing no available season statistics for him. That makes him more of a projection than a proven production play: the appeal is frame, developmental upside, and the chance to mold a young defensive back, while the concern is limited verified game impact so far. If you need a long-term depth add rather than an instant starter, he fits that profile well.
