Royal Capell brings quick-hit slot juice to UTEP
In the 2026 season, UTEP sophomore WR Royal Capell has flashed as a compact, reliable target, opening with 2 catches for 15 yards and a 12-yard long in the Miners’ first game. At 5-foot-10, 191 pounds, he profiles as a quick, tough receiver who can work underneath and survive traffic, and he already brings Power Five transfer experience after logging 10 catches for 47 yards as a true freshman at Oklahoma State in 2025. He’s not a stat-stuffer yet, but he’s the kind of glue-guy who can earn snaps fast if a staff wants precision, toughness, and a low-drama role player.
